About Beauty Bus
Beauty Bus is a nonprofit organization that provides complimentary beauty services to seriously ill individuals and their caregivers in homes and hospitals in the greater Los Angeles area. Beauty Bus is a 501(c)(3) organization. It was founded by Alicia Marantz Liotta and Wendy Marantz Levine. This fantastic foundation provides complimentary beauty and grooming treatments to seriously ill people and their caregivers. Each year, hundreds of patients benefit from their services. Referrals come from many places.
Beauty Bus was founded in memory of their friend Melissa Marantz Nealy. Nealy’s life was cut short at the young age of 28 by a degenerative neuromuscular disease. As a result of her disorder, Melissa became homebound as her disease progressed. In an effort to lift her spirits, her family arranged for in-home haircuts, manicures, and facials. Melissa said these treatments made her feel “human again.”
The impact on Melissa’s emotional well-being was profound. She felt nurtured by the beauty professionals who provided a momentary escape from her disease. It was inspiring. Melissa’s family founded the Beauty Bus Foundation in 2009 to offer this same experience of dignity, hope, and respite to other families when they need it most. Over 10 years later, their commitment to further their cause continues. Additionally, in 2019 the charity was recognized by Guidestar. They received the Seal of Transparency.
Rob’s Commitment to Beauty Bus
Since 2011, Rob E. Angelino, through his company Best Hair Transplant and Beauty Network, has been a strong supporter of the Beauty Bus Foundation. Angelino’s Beauty TV has covered Beauty Bus media events and fundraisers. Additionally, Angelino’s hair restoration company has donated free hair transplants to raise money for their silent charity auctions.
